We are not greedy by nature

Truth of the day: Greed = the illusion that we don't have enough when we are fed and sheltered and we will benefit from having more. I'm not sure this illusion is an inherently human trait. It might have been born millennia ago but by now it has enveloped our minds most of the time. Let us pray that we will see through this mirage enough so that it will go away.

Survival of the Fittest

Considering that all of life is an interlocking puzzle, when Darwin talked about survival of the fittest was he talking about the pieces that fit the most? If we want to stay in this puzzle maybe we gotta learn to fit better. We can practice by fitting our thoughts together with each other. If we can create a vast puzzle of diversity in our thinking and our being maybe we can stay in the big cosmic puzzle.

You can speak the truth or you can speak with precision but you can't do both at the same time, not with the same words, not unless you can speak different words from both sides of your mouth.

What is music?

Hears what I think.  Music is sound that's not negative-music.  Negative-music sucks the real music out of you.  It's sound disguised as music that's designed to sell something, including, often, itself.  But is there neutral-music?  Sound that just sits there doing nothing.  Well, it's still taking up space that could be used by positive-music.   Let's say you're driving down the road listening to commercial-free NPR "jazz'.  It's paint by numbers music.  Pretty harmless.  It doesn't really suck the music out of you.  It just takes up space that you could be filling by your own singing.  Next time you notice that the "music" you are listening to is really doing nothing but taking up space, turn it off and sing for fifteen seconds.  THAT'S MUSIC.

Technology is great and so is my mother the earth

It's true us humans like to invent stuff.  I'm not trying to stop us but I'm not thinkin it's gonna save us either.  How can we keep creating in service to our lord and savior our great mother the earth?

Oh my god I'm blogging

First the caveats... I don't have a capital q, an exclamation point, the number one, or the delete key so if you're wondering why I spell qtym in lowercase, I seem less than excited, I write in pluralistic terms or I say things that seem like things I wish I hadn't said, it's because of my keyboard.
